29 sep 2012 blue dot for bhikkhu

Once upon a time there was a little dog who loved to hike.   One day the little dog found a big bone at a Kenai campsite. He spent many happy hours gnawing on this bone.

One day he no longer could hike, and eventually chewing on the big bone was too hard.  Today his people hiked the Blue Dot Trail for him and left his big bone, with a bright red ribbon, under a birch tree for another dog to find and enjoy.

 In memory of little bhikkhu
a dog who loved bones
especially when they were bigger than he was.

So sorry to hear of your loss. I'm sure the little guy got lots of love and gave lots of love, too.

We hiked the Blue Dot trail yesterday, just a week later. Two little bones that we left on the trail side were still there, though the treats near them were gone. The big bone was gone. Hopefully to another dog who is happily gnawing away.

I really enjoyed Bhikkhu. I remember in 2009 doing some "walkies" with you and Bhikkhu. He brought joy & happiness into your life. I am sorry for your loss.

Hi Corinne -
I was so sad to read about little bhikkhu. He was a sweet dog and a very lucky one to spend his golden years with you and Paul.
